Can the color you wear really affect your mood? Research says yes; color can absolutely affect your mood, behavior and stress levels. There are no magic bullet answers, but there are generalities that can be gleaned from decades of research on the patterns of what people think about each color. So, how can you pick the perfect color for each situation? Based on the research, here is your personal color guide:

  1. Red : It stimulates the adrenal gland and the neurons. But too much exposure causes stress. Red provokes anger & frustration. It stimulates heartbeat and breathing. It is also is associated with energy. It enhances human metabolism. It increases respiration rate. It raises blood pressure.
  2. Yellow : It helps to release serotonin, causing a happy mood. But too much exposure causes fatigue. Yellow can speed up your metabolism. Babies cry more in yellow rooms. This colour evokes pleasant, cheerful feelings.

Increase Your Happiness Quotient

While most people would argue having a life you love will make you happy, I would argue that happiness will help you to create a life you love. Think about it. Be happy = manifest more in your world to be happy about. Be unhappy = manifest more in your world to be unhappy about. Easy peasy. What? Not so easy? Yes, staying happy is a constant effort. Notice I didn’t say it’s a struggle… it’s not. But we do have to stay conscious about it and continue to do what it takes to “keep the happy”. And what does it take? Here are a few things you can try to stay happy :

  1. Be Grateful : Take 5 minutes every morning to write down or declare what you are thankful for!
  2. Forgive : Is there anyone you haven’t forgiven, even yourself? Then forgive them.
